This is an update of my 25th century phaser design. This is now utilizing a new technology and is no longer known as a phaser. -- (Edit): added settings for this weapon. -- Settings for the mid 25th century type II phasarque.
These may be different than those listed in the Star Trek: The Next Generation Technical Manual for phasers (on purpose)
Mid 25th Century Type-2 phasarques have sixteen power settings:
STUNS 1. Light Stun - causes central nervous system impairment on humanoids, unconsciousness for up to 5 minutes. Long exposure by several shots causes reversible neural damage. 2. Medium Stun - causes unconsciousness from 5 to 15 minutes. Long exposure causes irreversible neural damage, along with damage to epithelial tissue. 3. Heavy Stun - causes unconsciousness from 15 to 60 minutes depending on the level of biological resistance. Significantly heats up metals. THERMAL 4. Light Thermal Effects - causes extensive neural damage to humanoids and skin burns limited to the outer layers. Causes metals to retain heat when applied for over five seconds. 5. Medium Thermal Effects - causes severe outer layer skin burns. Can penetrate simple personal force fields after five seconds of application. 6. Heavy Thermal Effects - penetrates organic and structural materials. The thermal damage level decreases from this level onward. DISRUPTION 7. Disruption Effects - due to widespread disruption effects, kills humanoids. 8. Disruption Effects - causes a cascade disruption that vaporizes humanoid organisms. Any unprotected material can be penetrated. 9. Disruption Effects - causes medium alloys and structural materials, over a meter thick, to exhibit energy rebound prior to vaporization. DISRUPTION EFFECTS 10. Disruption Effects - causes heavy alloys and structural materials to absorb or rebound energy. There is a 0.55 second delay before the material vaporizes. 11. Disruption Effects - causes ultra-dense alloys and structural materials to absorb or rebound energy before vaporization. There is a 0.2 second delay before the material vaporizes. Approximately 10 cubic meters of rock are disintegrated per shot. 12. Disruption Effects - causes ultra-dense alloys and structural materials to absorb or rebound energy before vaporization. There is a 0.1 second delay before the material vaporizes. Approximately 60 cubic meters of rock are disintegrated per shot. EXPLOSIVE DISRUPTION EFFECTS 13. Explosive/Disruption Effects - causes shielded matter to exhibit minor vibrational heating effects. Approximately 100 cubic meters of rock are disintegrated per shot. 14. Explosive/Disruption Effects - causes shielded matter to exhibit medium vibrational heating effects. Approximately 195 cubic meters of rock are disintegrated per shot. 15. Explosive/Disruption Effects - causes shielded matter to exhibit major vibrational heating effects. Approximately 450 cubic meters of rock are disintegrated per shot. EXTREME EXPLOSIVE DISRUPTION EFFECTS 16. Extreme Explosive/Disruption Effects - causes shielded matter to exhibit light mechanical fracturing damage. Approximately 785 cubic meters of rock are disintegrated per shot.
Mid 25th Century Type-2 phasarques have six width settings:
WIDTHS 1. Very Narrow beam is 0.5 centimeters in diameter 2. Narrow - beam is 1 centimeter in diameter 3. Standard - beam is 5 centimeters in diameter 4. Medium - beam is 15 centimeters in diameter 5. Wide - beam is 75 centimeters in diameter 6. Full Spread - beam is 300 centimeters in diameter
With phaser technology of 25th Century. I believe and have a theory that a 25th-century phaser you would have a 17th setting say... a reverse fusions setting. You know how fusion energy gets really really hot, reverse fusion energy gets extremely cold, rendering the target to a solid block of ice. But that's just crazy talk from me. Maybe there's no such technology is reverse fusion.
I don't think it would work with the effect produced by phasers anyway, since they cause nuclear disruption. However since my "phasarque" is not actually a phaser maybe I can make it do that.

DeviantART is counting down to its 100 millionth deviation! Join in on the fun and take a look back at some of the most noteworthy deviations we've seen along the way. The deviant who uploads the 100 millionth deviation could win a special prize, too. Hurry, we're going to hit the 100 million mark soon!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

It has 16 settings just like the type II phaser of the 24th century, the higher settings are however, more powerful.
I just added a list of settings to the deviation so take another look.
